Recent Trip

I took a trip this week back to Lititz, PA....hard to stay away.
Met up with a few friends for lunch and shopping.
We always have the best time chatting and laughing:)

We made a detour first to Lancaster to visit a little cross shop that I've had on my radar.
What a treat it was to visit Stitches Unlimited and meet the owner, Pat Young and her cross stitch guru, Jan.
Two very sweet and helpful gals.

W all had to purchase some floss.  Always a color or two that I can use more of.

I'm such a lover of BBD designs and had to get a snap of this beauty they had stitched and hung on their wall.  Feast of Friendship...so appropriate since it was a friend outing after all.
Carriage House Samplings is also another favorite of mine and I did not have the hornbook design in my "collection" so I had to purchase that chart and a few others that were calling my name...:)
We had so much fun looking around and adding to our stash!  I know we will visit again soon. It's only about 10 minutes outside of Lititz.  We were taking pictures and
this little old man asked if we wanted him to get a shot of all of us. He was so sweet and tried so hard to work my phone, but got a more sidewalk that us...LOL.
L to R.... Mimi, Susan, me and Pat.
We had such a great day together!  Thanks girls for a fun filled day!
I'll be back soon to show more pics of our shopping spree at Days Gone By Creations.
Happy Friday my friends!

A Little Time To Play

Yep, I've been having a little fun in the sewing studio.
It's so much fun to create and get some of these ideas out of my head and finished into actual handmades.

I'm a bit obsessed these days with velvet.  I recently purchased an array of colors from
Blackberry Primitives.  They are just luscious and so easy to work with.  They don't slip and slide when sewing them like other velvets I've used.  I don't why, but I not going to question it:)

The other day I stitched this motif on 40ct linen so it would be tiny enough to add to the peach velvet hanging heart I made.  The motif is part of a freebie design I gifted to the Prim Stitchers Society Group I belong to on Facebook.  I'm sure you've heard me mention it before.
I've been taking time to spend in the garden and I think all the flowers and birds have been an influence on my designing.  I am also working on a pinkeep box.  I stitched this band to go around the outside and I'll stuff some peach velvet for the pincushion top.

I hope to be back soon to show you the finish and also the other pieces I've stitched.  They are all on the floor of my studio waiting to be made into prim pretties...:)
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Summer Decorating

Finally had a little time to decorate for Summer.
I do the house up in a Patriotic fashion....just seems to be my theme for
this time of year.

Had a little fun on facebook this week....
My followers helped me reach the 1000 "likes" mark
on my Threadwork Primitives Page and so I
had a Patriotic Giveaway.

My new friend and follower Jane M. was the winner of
this 1776 ditty bag I created for the prize.
I'm having lots of fun and getting to know so many new stitchers on the
new group Prim Stitchers Society on facebook.  It's really a great bunch and we've become
like a family.  I have to say everyone is so helpful and supportive.  Just a super great VIBE:)
Check it out if you get a chance.

Happy Friday!  Looks to be a beautiful weekend.
Many happy stitches:)

One More...LOL

I have another stitcher's finish to show you and again this one is also mine...:)
A good friend stitched the "Wicked" design by The Primitive Needle and asked me to do the finishing on it.  She is such a wonderful friend that I was not only happy, but also really excited to do it for her.
I had done this finish before so she knew of it and sent along a vintage skeleton key that she had in her stash.  She stitched this with the called for WDW 30ct Parchment and with the called for
CC Belle Soie silks.  I love this design and she stitched this so beautifully.
I sent her a pic of the finish and she is super happy with it.  That is what counts and makes me smile.
Hope you like it too and that it inspires you to try something a little different!

A Stitcher's Finish

Happy Friday all :)
I thought I'd do a quick blog post while I wait for my honey to get home so we can start to enjoy the weekend together.
My good buddy Dora, stitched and finished "Bloom"
I think it's just wonderful.  Love the wool she used on the bottom along with the ric rac.
She has started to stuff with wood shavings and loves the look and feel, as do I.
You really did a super job on this Dora and you know how much I love to see your finishes.  Thank you for sharing it with me.

The next stitcher's finish is.....mine.....LOL.  I recently joined the Little Stitches Club
given by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.
I stitched and finished this kit called Spools of my Thread.  I just love this little
spool bag and will proudly display it in my sewing studio.  It was really an enjoyable stitch.

The Prim Stitcher's group that I belong to on facebook, actually had a stitch a long for this project.  It was so much fun to see everyone's progess and finishes.  I think everyone did their bag a little different and made it their own.  I love that!
Well, it was the perfect rainy day to work on this and it was a lot fun.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and as always....Happy Stitching!
