A Day for the Garden

Today was so beautiful in Philly that I didn't do much in the way of sewing. I did enjoy being out in the gardens and thought I'd take of few shots to remember the beauty of the day.

I love this old water pump my husband got me one year for my birthday. I couldn't wait to get it in the garden.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend doing what you love.

Stitching the Day Away

I started this Independence Day Ditty Bag last night and got it finished up today and listed on Etsy. It came out just the way I envisioned it. That's always a plus. I also finished up a sewing roll that I had started last year. I just never got around to putting the backing fabric on or the finishing touches. But today was the day, since it has been calling to me for so many months, every time I go into my sewing room. I just felt the urge to get it done and so glad I did. I am really pleased with it and can't wait to start using it when I cross stitch. It should be pretty handy with the pocket and small pincushion. Well, it's really a lovely day out there today, so I think I'll sit on the deck awhile and listen to the birdies sing. Have a wonderful day.

My Package Arrived

I just wanted all my friends in blog land to see what arrived in the mail yesterday. YEAH! I bought this primitive doll from Robby at Glory River Primitives in Scotland. As I've said many times before she has the most wonderful creations. Anyway, her name is Bettina and I just love her look. I couldn't wait to display her on my favorite shaker chair in my sewing room. Isn't she just simply the best? Thank you Robby for brightening my day. I will truly cherish her. Please click on the picture to enlarge it so you can get a real good look at her in detail.

~Spring 2009~

Happy Memorial Day!
I worked in the garden most of the weekend rather than sewing.
It was just too beautiful to be inside.
The little sewing I did do was in a lounge chair on the deck.
My gardens are looking lovely. The hard work is paying off.
The Irises are in full bloom and the lavender and hydrangea
have the beginning of flower heads. I planted a ton of impatiens in
every bed possible. They are small now but by the end
of the summer they will almost connect to one another.
I love gardening as much as cross stitching.
Now that the hard work is done we can sit back and enjoy it.
Best wishes to you and your families this Memorial Day.

Strawberry Kick

I guess I'm addicted now. I liked making the last bunch of strawberries so much that I went on to make a large set. They are a little more primitive so I like them even better. This pattern is by Stacy Nash Primitives. She has some wonderful patterns. I'm a big fan. I put these in my Etsy store and they went fast. YEAH!!! Well, I thought I would post these pics on my blog for all to see. I love getting your comments too.
