Some Stitching

Just a quick post to show you my latest stitching.
It's a design by The Workbasket called Pink Flower.

I just finished this up this morning and I think
it may look nice on the top of a primtive
fabric covered box.  I did this on
30 ct Straw linen by WDW and I just have to
say that I loved stitching on this fabric.
I think it's my new favorite :)

Wishing everyone a beautiful and fun
filled holiday weekend.
Enjoy!

Cupcake Pinkeep

Well, I tried my hand at a BBD cupcake pinkeep this
week.  I really like how it turned out, but boy was
this a bugger to make.  I fiddled and fiddled with this
till I got it to look right.  The top is filled with crushed
walnut shells and it was a bit tricky to get it to fit
in the box correctly and not smash the ric rac.
I guess it just takes practice.  I have another one stitched
up in brown, so I guess that will get me some more of
that practice I need : )  BTW...I stitched this with
one of the red hand dyed flosses I got from Nancy
at Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  It's really
wonderful thread.  And, I used a tiny paper mache
box bottom for the base.  It's only 2" across at the top.
I had to improvise since the turned wooden bases
that are called for are almost $30 each.

I also wanted to show you this other version
of Stacy Nash's, Remember Me pillow that I
just finished up. This was stitched for a
wonderful customer and sweet friend,
so I'm hoping she loves it.  She asked me to
change the colors a bit and I love the
different look it gives to it.

Well, time to get some more stitching done
before heading off to work.  Thanks for stopping
by to visit and have a fabulous weekend.

~*~Thread Heaven~*~

If you're like me, the arrival of thread, linen or
charts in the mail, makes you extremely giddy.

I treated myself to some hand dyed thread
recently and this is what the package
contained.  Isn't is a lovely sight?

If you're wondering where you can
get some of this beautiful thread. It's
hand dyed by Nancy.  She has a store on Ebay

She has the most amazing colors and she
will put a special order together for you if
you'd like. That's what I did. She is
just the nicest gal.

I have some new designs planned for these
wonderful threads.  Can't wait to start
stitching with them.

Hope your day is filled with something that
makes you giddy.

Smiles,
~Nan

A Beautiful May Day

How gorgeous is this day?
I've grabbed my stitching and I'm off
to the garden to take in the sweet
smell of lilacs and feel the warm breezes.

What a wonderful day to stitch outside
in my comfy garden chair by the
fountain.  The birds don't mind
my company and still come to drink.

I should be cleaning out more of the garden
beds, but I just want to take this time to
soak up the day and do what I love best.
Cross stitching !

Have a wonderful May Day!
