Another Fall Release!

Yes, I'm in such a Fall mood!
My friend Elizabeth of Dames of the Needle/From the Cauldronsurprised me with a new linen color she had dyed up.
It was so beautiful, I felt inspired to create a new design.  The color is called North Beach Brown and the Fall floss colors work so well on it.

This new design is called "Edgar's Manor".  I wanted a needlebook I could take out and use in the Fall.  Edgar would, of course, live in a black house, but he has a wonderful geometric pathway in front of the doorway.  It would not be complete without his Raven's to watch over it.

The inside has a pocket in a chestnut colored wool by Blackberry Primitives and a piece of the linen is used for holding pins and needles.
I used the 32ct linen for this and it's stitched with overdyed and DMC floss.  Here are the colors used....The Gentle Art, Tarnished Gold and Carriage Black. WDW, Grasshopper and DMC 640.

The charts are on there way to my Distributor and will be released this Friday, Sept 18th.

I am leaving tomorrow to spend a few days with friends down in Maryland and then we all travel to Lori's Gathering at Notforgotten Farm.  I'm so excited to see new and old friends there.
Last year was so much fun and this year should be even better.
My etsy shop will be closed until my return next week.

I hope you like what I've designed.  It was a fun and fast stitch...my favorite kind.  Hope to see you at the Gathering on Saturday....If you see me, please stop and say hello:)
Smiles and as always, Happy Stitching!

Big Giveaway!

Click the pic to make larger.
As many of you know, I am part of a wonderful group of stitchers and needlepunchers on facebook called The Prim Stitchers Society.  It's a very positive and supportive group and we are all very passionate about "prim" needlework.
The group, which was formed by our Admin, Terri Hall of http://www.dixiesamplar.com/ , on March 20th, recently reached the 3000 member mark last month.  We've grown extremely fast and we really are like one BIG happy family.
Well to celebrate that milestone, the group is having a really fabulous giveaway.  So many of the member designers have offered to contribute prizes.  Three winners will be selected randomly to receive a super gift package.  If have not joined in on all the fun yet, now is a great time. The winners names will be drawn today at 6:00 pm.  Sorry, I'm so late posting this:(

Here is the link to join!
Just click the button to join and the admin will add you to our Prim Family!

A few of the members traveled together and met up with other members at The Gathering of Primitive Friends Show, hosted by one of our favorite Prim Stitcher sisters, Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.
We really could not have imagined a better time.

Road Trip....Woot Woot

I've been keeping my fingers very busy gearing up for another Primitive Handmades Mercantile.  I have some things made and ready for this month and some for next....Yep, I love to be ahead of the game at all times.  Here's the pile of hand dids on my studio floor.  A little bit of everything.
The PHM update is Thursday around 9:00.  The timing isn't perfect because I leave on a road trip early the next morning.  But I'll be bringing my laptop with me, as always.  So, I will be able to email about sales, if need be.

Anyone else headed to Notforgotten Farm this Saturday?
It's the annual Gathering of Primitive Friends show!
I'm over the moon excited and will be en route on Friday to meet up with some friends.
Then we'll load up the van and all go together to our destination.
So many friends from all over are traveling for this event.  I hope to put a lot of faces to
names and CAN NOT wait to meet all my online prim stitching friends.
I'm excited to finally meet my pal Lori too.  I know it'll be so much fun and I'll be smiling from dawn to dusk.

The weather is supposed to be perfect that day and I'm sure I'll be bringing home with a few treasures from some of my favorite folk artists!  Hope to see you there and Please make sure to say hi:).
Smiling, smiling, smiling.....~Nan

A Stitcher's Finish

Happy Friday all :)
I thought I'd do a quick blog post while I wait for my honey to get home so we can start to enjoy the weekend together.
My good buddy Dora, stitched and finished "Bloom"
I think it's just wonderful.  Love the wool she used on the bottom along with the ric rac.
She has started to stuff with wood shavings and loves the look and feel, as do I.
You really did a super job on this Dora and you know how much I love to see your finishes.  Thank you for sharing it with me.

The next stitcher's finish is.....mine.....LOL.  I recently joined the Little Stitches Club
given by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.
I stitched and finished this kit called Spools of my Thread.  I just love this little
spool bag and will proudly display it in my sewing studio.  It was really an enjoyable stitch.

The Prim Stitcher's group that I belong to on facebook, actually had a stitch a long for this project.  It was so much fun to see everyone's progess and finishes.  I think everyone did their bag a little different and made it their own.  I love that!
Well, it was the perfect rainy day to work on this and it was a lot fun.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and as always....Happy Stitching!

Too Funny

Happy Spring!

This is just too funny.....
I was reading Lori's blog
 as usual, and she mentioned
that you could stand an egg on it's end
today because of the Earth's
rotational pull .  She said it really
works.   I had never heard of
this before and sooooo
I had to  give it a try.
Ta Da.....
Lori is just full of fun facts :)
It's a beauty of a day here
in Philadelphia.  I'm off
to run to the post office
and do a few errands.
Enjoy this first day of Spring!

**Just A Quick Post **

To show you my little bit of stitching.
Really, how adorable is this design?
This is my interpretation of
Notforgotten Farm'
Xmas freebie.
Stitched in GA Tin Bucket
and DMC 830.
A few mother of pearl buttons
and it's already to be made into
something special.
A bit big for an ornament, so it
may turn into a pinkeep or maybe
a little cupboard hanger.
Thanks Lori for this sweet little
design.
~*~
Hope you're all getting to do
what you love this weekend too.
Smiles,
~Nan

Good Friends

and a new banner !
I was so surprised to get
this in the mail the other day.
 Yes, my dear sweet friend
Ivonne of The Crackling Crows
gifted me
with another one of her wonderful
banners.  She thought it
appropriate since she says
I'm always creating.
I just love it!  Isn't it a beauty?
If you don't own one of Ivonne's
awesome banners already,
you'll have to check out her blog!
I have it hanging in my studio
on an antique quilt rack
where I keep some of my
favorite ticking.
~*~
Ivonne, I am so thankful to call you
my friend.  You are so sweet
and such a joy to have in my life.
Girl, you know I love you,
right? : )
Thank you from the bottom of
my

I fell in love with this prim little design
when Lori at Notforgotten Farm
posted the freebie on her blo
a little while ago.
This is what I've stitched so far.
Hope to have it finished soon.
Happy Weekend all.
