Release Day!

I've been busy working on new designs and I'm very excited to finally share my 3 new cross stitch pattern releases.
My love of nature was the inspiration for this design.
A great motto to live by too, "Live Simply".
Stitched on 32ct Aged Saffron linen by Dames of the Needle.  I went old school on this one...it's stitched completely in DMC.  Stitch Count: 109 x 97.

I love to decorate the house in everything Patriotic for the Summer. Flags, bunting, you name it.  "American Eagle" will be the perfect addition to any patriotic display. Stitched on 36ct Vtg Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens using GA Blackboard and CC Cherry Cobbler.
Stitch Count: 131 x 62.

And finally, "American Bloom".  I wanted to design something that was not your typical patriotic stitch.  This design is finished to be an insert for a #2 LeHay's Shaker Carrier.  I designed "Bittersweet October" insert in 2016 and wanted to be able to change it out with something new.
Stitched on 30ct Tin Roof by Weeks Dye Works. Floss is GA - Aged Pewter, Brethren Blue, Country Redwood, CC- Little House Brown and DMC 3371. Stitch Count: 60 x 33.

These new designs are available in my Etsy Shop and are on there way to my distributor. Thanks so much for stopping by and wishing you all a wonderful Spring weekend.

Quaker Carnations Pinwheel

Well, it took awhile to get this ready for release, but I think it was worth it.
I custom ordered some variegated hand dyed ribbon for the finish.  It's really beautiful ribbon and the colors go so perfectly with the colors in the design.
Here is the 3rd in the Pinwheel series.

"Quaker Carnations Pinwheel"

This piece was stitched on 32ct Vtg. Clay Pot by Lakeside Linens.
The Gentle Art floss colors are Wood Smoke, Cinnamon, Green Tea Leaf and Toffee.
Finished size is approx. 4".

I've added this new design to my Etsy Shop, along with the hand dyed finishing ribbon, which can be purchased separately.  This design has shipped to my Distributor and will be available in your needlework shop very soon.

I hope you like what I've created and will enjoy stitching it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Merry & Bright

I'm so happy to finally show you my latest design.  This one was truly fun to create
and I really loved mixing in a bit of wool on this.

"Merry & Bright"

The model was stitched one over two linen strands on 32ct Dirty Ewe linen by Dames of the Needle with Classic Colorworks Belle Soie Red Fox.  I love the variation the silk gives and it's so wonderful to stitch with.  The wool trees were a breeze to stitch on and a template is provided with the pattern.  I purchased the wool from The Merry Hooker.  The color is called Pepperberry and matched the Red Fox silk perfectly.
I did a simple trim around the edge with a matching red yarn.
Stitch Count 107 x 108.
Finally, I want to thank my dear friend Cindy Ruckman Cabrey for stitching the model.  Every stitch is always beautiful.

This will be available in shops very soon and will also listed in my Etsy shop for your convenience.

Thank you very much my fellow stitchers for all your continued support.
Happy weekend and happy stitching.

A sneak peek and some creative time

Thought I'd share with you a sneak of my soon to be chart release, "Merry & Bright".  Back from my wonderful model stitcher, Cindy Ruckman Cabrey.  I'm hoping to get this printed and out this week. I can't wait for you to see the finish.  Another cross stitch and wool combo!

I locked myself in my studio for most of the day....Working on a few things for this month's Primitive Handmades Merc.  I have a large bin of scraps that I've saved....and I use them to mix and match for the backings of pinkeep, etc.  It has done my heart and mind good to sew and get creative today.

Wishing you a day of good creativity too!

Big Release Day!

Dear Friends,
I'm excited to announce I have two new designs ready for release. One is a Quaker style sampler with a fun twist and the other is a cross stitch and wool combo design. I've been asked many time to create a piece that combines both cross stitch and wool, so I hope you'll like what I've come up with.

"Never Fading"

I have a great fondness for anything in the Quaker style. This is a sampler I've designed with that style in mind, but I wanted to give it a bit of a twist. I've added a wool patch on the bottom, so you can add your favorite little treasures, such as buttons, keys, pins etc., of which I have many....and rather then have them sit in a drawer unseen, they now have a special place for display. The bonus pinkeep design is also included in the chart pack.

Design Info: Stitch Count: 128 x 117 (sampler), 80 x 74 (pinkeep). 32ct Vtg. Sand Dune and 36ct Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens. Blackberry Primitives Wool ~ Yarrow. Beautifully model Stitched by Cindy Ruckman Cabrey and framed by Patti Nicolosi of By My Hand Needlewerks.

"Nightingale's Garden"
I've been having lots of fun working with wool lately and thought it would be great to finally combine the two in a design. This was a fun piece to create and I love how prim it turned out. The wool farmhouse was inspired by one that is right down the road from us.

Design Info: Stitch Count: 158 x 51. 30ct Tin Roof linen by Weeks Dye Works. Blackberry Primitives Wool ~ Boulder and Slate. Beautifully framed by Patti Nicolosi of By My Hand Needlewerks.

Both of these new designs can be purchased from your favorite needlework shop or directly from me in my Etsy Shop. These and all my designs are listed there. Thank you for all your continued support and as always, happy stitching! ~Nan

Another Fall Release!

Yes, I'm in such a Fall mood!
My friend Elizabeth of Dames of the Needle/From the Cauldronsurprised me with a new linen color she had dyed up.
It was so beautiful, I felt inspired to create a new design.  The color is called North Beach Brown and the Fall floss colors work so well on it.

This new design is called "Edgar's Manor".  I wanted a needlebook I could take out and use in the Fall.  Edgar would, of course, live in a black house, but he has a wonderful geometric pathway in front of the doorway.  It would not be complete without his Raven's to watch over it.

The inside has a pocket in a chestnut colored wool by Blackberry Primitives and a piece of the linen is used for holding pins and needles.
I used the 32ct linen for this and it's stitched with overdyed and DMC floss.  Here are the colors used....The Gentle Art, Tarnished Gold and Carriage Black. WDW, Grasshopper and DMC 640.

The charts are on there way to my Distributor and will be released this Friday, Sept 18th.

I am leaving tomorrow to spend a few days with friends down in Maryland and then we all travel to Lori's Gathering at Notforgotten Farm.  I'm so excited to see new and old friends there.
Last year was so much fun and this year should be even better.
My etsy shop will be closed until my return next week.

I hope you like what I've designed.  It was a fun and fast stitch...my favorite kind.  Hope to see you at the Gathering on Saturday....If you see me, please stop and say hello:)
Smiles and as always, Happy Stitching!

Two More!

Happy Friday my friends.  I'm so pleased to show you my other two new releases.
These are both stitched on a wonderful new linen line by my friend Elizabeth Talledo of Dames of the Needle aka The Pom Pom Girl.

The Joy of My Heart has the stitcher in mind.  The quote speaks to me and most stitchers.
"The Joy of my heart is the work of my hands"

This was originally designed to be the last 2014 Ladies Prim Society piece, but never made it into the club.  I got an email from the shop to say they would not need this design and hopefully I could use it as a regular release.  Ah yeah...LOL.  And this way it's available to all.

Joy of My Heart Bag

Next is a stitcher's wallet and that is always a handy thing to have close.  I love peacocks and I know I'm not alone:)

Spring Tail Feathers

Hope you like what I've designed and will have many happy hours stitching.

I will be doing just that this weekend.  Heading down to Maryland for a get together of stitch friends.   Along with stitching there's always lots of laughter and this time a BBQ!
Have a great weekend my friends.
~Nan

Saturday, May 23, 2015

It's been a busy year for me already with club releases, stitching retreats and creating new cross stitch designs.
I love every minute of it.
I am happy to share two new charts...

"My Treasures"
In dedication to all my dear friends.  I just love this quote..
"My treasures were I had such friends"
It rings true as I am blessed with many.  The chart includes a full alphabet so that you can put one of your bestie's intials on it.  Here I've chosen my friend Cindy's initials (CRC).....she is very special friend indeed.
I think this would make a perfect gift for a stitch friend.

Next....

"Wild Pomegranate"
How I love to keep a needleroll near me at all times.  Great for when you're traveling too.  Vintage binding ribbon, old buttons and pins..with beautiful over dyed wool from Blackberry Primitives.

Look for these at your needlework shop or in my Etsy Store.

But wait.....I have two more designs coming out next week....told you I've been busy.
Smiles and a very happy and safe holiday weekend to you all!
