The Never Ending Birthday - Part 1

Hi all. Yep, that's right.  My birthday, which was on the 18th, seems to be ongoing!
On Wednesday, my friend Mimi aka R. M. Martz and I went on a little road trip up to Doylestown, Pa. to visit with one of her Artist/Painter friends.  We went to pick up an early American Folk Art sign that my husband had purchased for me for my birthday,
with the help of Mimi.
Peter DiScala of Strafford House creates the most amazing hand painted signs.
They look very original and old and when we walked into his carriage house studio to get the one my hubby had ordered, let me just say, I was speechless which rarely happens :)

Here is the sign I got for my birthday!
RumGin and a biscuit please......:)

I picked out a spot atop our antique grain bin in our sunroom, but I have already moved it and want to hang it on the focal wall upstairs.

I also grabbed one of his cards while there and if you get a chance to visit his website or facebook page, you will not be disappointed.

When I was looking around I just couldn't resist treating myself to another of his wonderful signs and ended up bringing this one home too.  I don't usually buy myself a birthday gift, but felt I just couldn't leave this one behind.  Have you ever felt like that?
  WOOLENS ~AND~ LINENS.
Oh yeah, that said it all !
I decided to hang this one over the green
grain bin instead.
I also got lots of great gifts from Mimi,
but that will be part 2.
I'll be back to show you them as soon as I can.
Happy Friday, ~ Nan

A Stitcher's FInish

Hope you are all having a
wonderful weekend.
I am keeping busy, as always,
there is lots to do, but I am stitching too.
Mostly for a friend's birthday in
September, so there is nothing
that I can show right now.
I can show you the two finishes
that Dora (no blog) sent to me
last week.
I think they are both wonderful.
She said the pictures were taken
at Pickity Place in New Hampshire.

First is "A Bee's Bounty"
She stitched this using
32ct Apple Brown Bindy from R & R
and folded the lining fabric over the edge
to the front of the bag.  She said it was a nice touch of color for the top and a little bit of stability for holding
the wildflowers.  I love the way the fabric looks on the top.

Next she stitched "A Bee's Gathering".

This was stitched on a piece of 32ct mystery linen.
Dora, they are both really beautifully done. I love them and I just want to thank you for stitching them and for sharing your finishes with all of us.
Until next time.
Happy Stitching!

Surprise Birthday Box

I am absolutely giddy!
My birthday was on Sunday.
It was a wonderful day spent with
my hubby.  We went out for a nice
dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant.
Now, I'm at the age that it's not really
a big deal anymore, but I have to say,
when this big box arrived today
from my buddy Ann, I felt pretty
special!
This is what I unwrapped.
Look at all these goodies.
Beautiful R & R linen in my
favorite counts, 32 and 36 :)
A pattern I've been wanting!
 A primitive huswife with
a wool star on the front.  She even
stitched this wonderful Halloween
ornament for me.  How special!
It's so pretty and just perfect.
She knows just how much I love
Halloween and sent this
Pumpkin Head man too.
Isn't he cool?
Now I can't wait to decorate for Fall.
♥ ♥ ♥
I just love everything my friend and
you have brought me more smiles than
you could ever know.
Thank you!  I am so touched by
your thoughtfulness.
 ~*~*~*~*~
I'll be back later this week
to show you some stitcher's finishes
that were sent to me.
They are super.
Big smiles to you all,
~Nan

Beggar's Night Release

Happy Friday all.....
Thank you again for your wonderful response
to my new design.  I won't keep you in suspense
any longer.  Here is the finish.  Can't wait to hear what you think of it.  If you know me, you know I have a love for pinkeeps :)

"Beggar's Night"

As I mentioned before, this is stitched on one of my favorite linens, 35ct R & R Reproductions Abecedarian Blend with DMC floss.
I chose to trim it with  R & R Cinnamon baby chenille for an added touch!  They have so many great color chenilles and ric racs, but this color
seemed a perfect match.
Ann and Pat of R & R Reproductions, will be taking this model with them to the TNNA show at the end of the month.  It will be on display in their suite #612.
Many thanks my dear friends for your support and friendship.

Now off to get this posted in my Etsy Shop.
Thanks for visiting and have a super weekend.

Back and Busy

I've been back from my dog sitting adventure for some time now.  It was very relaxing and I just fell in love with those 3 little dachshunds.  I have been so busy since my return home,  finishing Beggar's Night and a few other projects that I've had no time at all to sit and blog :(
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and response to the new design.  You guys are the best and I am so happy you all like it.  I'll be back tomorrow to show you the finish and post the release.
~*~*~*~*~*~
I wanted to show you the gifts that showed up on my door step the other day.
They were from my buddy, Ivonne of The Crackling Crows.  She surprised me with a handmade patriotic pumpkin and one of her wonderful banners.  She is so creative.  Thank you so much Vonnie.  You know I love them  AND you and I already have them displayed!
~*~*~*~*~*~
I'll leave you with a picture of my new buddies all tuckered out after a long day of play.
Hansel, Gretel and Lacey.  ♥ ♥ ♥

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow!
