They've Been Framed:)

I just had to share with you the two samplers I got back today from my new framer Patti Nicolosi.
I met Patti at a retreat this past Spring and she is what I would call a "great find".
She is everything you want in a framer....Skilled, affordable, and friendly...
plus she has a great eye for what frames work well.  I trusted her to pick the frames for these and I think she was spot on.  So if you are in need of a wonderful framer
contact Patti at annnico65@yahoo.com

These are both sampler designs by Blackbird Design that I stitched earlier in the year.
I just love how they turned out.  I changed most of the color as I wanted them to look just like the pictures of the ones in the booklet.

1861 Sampler is on the left and Scarlet Letters is on the right. I am so pleased with them both and they are now gracing the walls in our home.  Wonderful designs and both were such a joy to stitch.  I really love Barb and Alma's design, but especially their the samplers they've reproduced.
Happy weekend all ~ Nan

My WIP

I thought I'd share my progress on my WIP, 1861 Antique Sampler by Blackbird Designs.   I've changed most of the called for colors, as I love the photograph of the original sampler in the book so much, that I want my piece to resemble the photo as much as possible.

I still have a ways to go, but this is turning out to be a lovely stitch and I am enjoying my time with it.

I am heading to Elkton MD tomorrow to meet up with friends.  We all going to the "from the Farmhouse Show.  It's such great event and we try not to miss it.

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned too.

A Wonderful Day

Happy Easter! I enjoyed a peaceful day with my honey. It was sunny, and almost warm. The windows were open, the birds were chirping and we had the music on....I've decided to make Sundays "a stitch for keeps" day...when I stitch on something that I've been wanting to have and keep. I fell in love with this design, "1861 Antique Sampler"' the moment I opened the book, In Friendship's Way by Blackbird Designs. I'm stitching this on 32ct Lakeside Vtg. Pear and using most of the called for floss....with a few changes.

I hope your day was filled with peace and surrounded by those you love.

I'm busy stitching another design.

Just finished designing it this

that I needed to start stitching
right away.  I love that kind :)

I've also completed all of the finishing
on the pieces I stitched up in my
previous post (here).   So, I'll
be having a few finished goods

Happy Stitching!

Good Friends

and a new banner !
I was so surprised to get
this in the mail the other day.
 Yes, my dear sweet friend
Ivonne of The Crackling Crows
gifted me
with another one of her wonderful
banners.  She thought it
appropriate since she says
I'm always creating.
I just love it!  Isn't it a beauty?
If you don't own one of Ivonne's
awesome banners already,
you'll have to check out her blog!
I have it hanging in my studio
on an antique quilt rack
where I keep some of my
favorite ticking.
