Quaker Carnations Pinwheel

Well, it took awhile to get this ready for release, but I think it was worth it.
I custom ordered some variegated hand dyed ribbon for the finish.  It's really beautiful ribbon and the colors go so perfectly with the colors in the design.
Here is the 3rd in the Pinwheel series.

"Quaker Carnations Pinwheel"

This piece was stitched on 32ct Vtg. Clay Pot by Lakeside Linens.
The Gentle Art floss colors are Wood Smoke, Cinnamon, Green Tea Leaf and Toffee.
Finished size is approx. 4".

I've added this new design to my Etsy Shop, along with the hand dyed finishing ribbon, which can be purchased separately.  This design has shipped to my Distributor and will be available in your needlework shop very soon.

I hope you like what I've created and will enjoy stitching it.

Thank you for stopping by.

Working.....

on the next Pinwheel.  This will be the 3rd in the series.  I'm stitching this on some beautiful linen that just arrived from Lakeside.  It's not a new color, but I sure think it's and underappreciated one.
Vintage Clay Pot.....oooooh...it's even lovelier in person.  Pulled some pretty Fall colors for this one too.

Let the stitching begin.....

Permelia Allen Sampler Stitching

In between designing, I've been stitching a sampler.  I was just able to obtain the kit for this and began it the minute it arrived.  I just finished the last stitch on it the other day and I have to say I am completely smitten with her.
It's a beautiful reproduction sampler by The Posy Collection that is part of the Historic Deerfield Museum.  Permelia Allen was only 10 years old when she stitched the original.
Makes you smile, doesn't it?

I reached out to Posy Lough this morning and I am happy to say this kit is STILL available through the museum. The kit includes the chart and DMC threads.  I decided to use overdyed threads when stitching mine.
Here is the email I got from Posy with all the info to obtain a kit, in case any of you are interested.
Nan,
Again, thank you so much for following through on the interest in the Permelia Allen Sampler.
I had a wonderful talk with Tina Harding, the Museum Shop Buyer and Manager , who is delighted that there is an interest in the kit.
It will benefit the museum so much and she has stock for those who are ready to stitch!
Call the Historic Deerfield Museum Shop at 413-775-7170 and ask for PC- 216 Permelia Allen Sampler Kit (not available as a chart only) It is $24.95 plus shipping- when orders are placed they will give the shipping.
It isn’t on their website so I am attaching the kit front.
I am thankful for those who love our historic samplers!
All the best to you and many thanks!
Posy Lough

I know many of my stitching friends were thrilled to learn they could still get this. And it's a wonderful way to help out the museum.

Happy stitching my friends,

New Release ~ Tall Trees Coverlet

I have such a love for early coverlets.  I think the designs used were so beautiful and artistic.  I came across an American coverlet that I fell in love with and decided to use it as the inspiration for this design. I chose the name....

"Tall Trees Coverlet"

I've stitched this on a beautiful piece of 32ct Vintage Cedar Plank by Lakeside Linens using one color, WDW Flatfish and created a pinkeep.
It's a nice finished size of approx. 5" x 7".  I think this would look lovely and fit quite nicely in a store bought frame.

This new pattern is now available in my Etsy shop and will also soon be available at your local needlework shop very soon.

Thank you for stopping by and as always happy stitching my friends!

Quaker Bird Pinwheel

Long time since my last post...I know...but I've been taking life a little slower these past few months and just enjoying life.
I'm happy to show you my first real release of the year.  And I'm really happy with how the model turned out.  I was inspired by the antique pinwheels the Quakers use to make and thought I'd try my hand and making one.

"QUAKER BIRD PINWHEEL

Stitched on 32ct Peep's Lost Sheep linen from my friend Ebeth of Dames of the Needle.
I used a combination of Classic Colorworks and DMC floss.  Detailed finishing instructions are provided.  The finished pinwheel is about 4" in diameter.

Thanks for stopping by and as always, happy stitching my friends!

Guess it's time to think about hearts. I've release my "Cinnamon Hearts" design. It was originally a kit. Since so many have asked for it as just a chart, I thought this would be a perfect time!
