*Weekend Stitching*

Just wanted to show you a few items I've been working on.
I designed and started stitching this little alphabet sampler this weekend and
hope to attach it to a custom lollipop top hornbook.   I still have to finish
up stitching it and get it all stained and prim looking.
The colors are olive green, dark brown, gold and a denim blue.
Not sure what color I will paint the hornbook.  Have to wait and see.

I just got the new Blackbird Designs booklet called A Stitcher's Journey and I also treated myself to 3 of Maggie Bonanomi's books.  I thought these little Tulip Pinkeeps (BBD) and matching velvet hearts (MB) would be a quick and fun stitch and they really were.
Of course, I ended up changing the floss colors to ones I liked better and I even dyed the head pins to match.  I made a light and dark version.  I like the way they turned out and I'm not sure I could pick a favorite.
BTW... the ric rac I used is hand dyed by Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler Shop
I can tell you first hand it is wonderful and she has some really great colors available.

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend and I wish everyone a wonderful week.
Smiles,
~Nan

I can't wait to see the finished piece. I picked up the Stitcher's Journey last week and can't decide which one to start. Maybe I'll wait on your alphabet......

Very cute! The little tulip pinkeeps are adorable and perfect for spring. I love the velvet hearts too, they are different. I don't know which I like best either but they look great together.
