A Lovely Day

I took a well needed day off from work today and it was just
a beautiful day.  I did things that needed to be done, but also
things that I just like doing.

I stained some linen and dyed some chenille yarn to use on
future projects.  I did a variety of colors on the chenille.
Some tans, faded oranges and bittersweet.  Prefect for
Fall and Halloween items.  Then I put them on my
old fashion drying rack and sat it out in the gorgeous
sunshine to dry.
I also cleaned the sun porch and did some rearranging.
I have this beautiful old green grain bin that I moved to
a spot on the sun porch and added a few touches to
the top.  An old grain sack towel with the best
small green stripes down each side.  A few of my
old jars.  Quite an obsession of mine and an
antique garden dibble.
Of course I did some stitching.  The day just wouldn't
be complete.  I finished this Stacy Nash Alphabet
Sampler, but changed up the colors a bit, no surprise
there, right?  And added a date to the bottom.
I'm pleased with it and hope to attach it to a
wooden hornbook.
I do love making hornbooks.
Well, wishing all of you a wonderful day, doing
things that you love to do and that make you smile.

A Few Things for TDIPT Mercantile Tonight

Tonight I'll be listing a few new stitcheries on TDIPT Mercantile.
A few are Fall inspired.  Seems I'm just in the mood for Fall
these days.

This sawdust filled pillow is a Threadwork Primitives original design.
A sawdust pinkeep in Fall colors.

I couldn't resist making another hornbook.
Did quite a bit of distressing to this hornbook,
so it looks nice and old.

My Needle's Work Ditty Bag will also be
listed tonight.
This is such a wonderful design from
Notforgotten Farm.
I hope you can all drop by to TDIPT Mercantile
tonight around 9 pm or so to view my new listings
and all of the other wonderfully talented artists.
Smiles,
~Nan

~Yearning for FALL~

Are you yearning for Fall?  I am and it's showing up
in my stitching.
I enjoyed stitching this La D Da pattern so much
I decided to stitch it again in Fall tones.
I think it would be perfect to display in Oct.

Next, I made a ditty bag with a small hanging
BOO pinkeep to add some interest to the bag.
I love this fabric.  This is also the fabric I used
to back the La D Da Pinkeep above.

I have a few more things almost finished.
All with a Halloween or Fall theme to them.
Thanks for visiting and I always love to hear your
comments and visit your blogs too.
Smiles,

~A Notforgotten Farm Finish~

My Needle's Work Ditty Bag

I thought I'd share my latest finish with you.  This is a
brand new pattern by Lori at Notforgotten Farm
and since I love stitching peacocks
it was on my MUST HAVE chart list.

I started to stitch this the day it arrived in my mailbox : )
and when finished I thought it would make a very prim
ditty bag.  I used some brown ticking that I had to trim
the top and some denim blue homespun plaid for a contrast on
the inside lining.  It's had a good walnut stain bath, so it
looks like it's been around a long time.

At the moment it's hanging on my sewing cupboard in my
studio and it puts a smile on my face.

Wishing all of you a day full of smiles!
