In my last post I showed you a Plum Street Sampler
design I had stitched. As I mentioned I had actually
stitched two of them and was able to get them finished.
One into a pinkeep with black wool and a bit of
crocheted lace.
And the other I put on top of a fabric covered box
trimmed with some of the cotton chenille trim I dyed over
the summer months. The trim came out a perfect
dark orange color and really matches well.
I painted the inside burnt sienna and added a
little cross stitched piece to the underside of
the lid.
I'm currently stitching a Stacy Nash design called
"Black Horse". It's coming along pretty well
and now I'm on to the border. This may take awhile.
Not sure if I'll end up framing it or making it into a
pillow. It will be rather large. About 8 to 9 inches.
Of course I'll stain it once it's stitched so it will
be more drab and prim.
I'm going to decorate the house today for Fall/Halloween,
so I'm hoping to get some pics to post.
I love this time of year.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!

What lovely finishes! Both of the Beware crows/ravens are fantastic the way you've finished them - I love the dark orange fabric you used on the box. I enjoy seeing your finishes, they're really inspiring!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous finishes! Love all 3 of them! You're making me want to purchase that Plum Street crow... much more attractive to me with the word Beware! Nice touch! :-)
