Falling Leaves Hornbook

Well, I must say
I am very pleased with
the way this hornbook
sampler turned out.
So much so that I
couldn't part with it.
Is that terrible?
It will stay in our home
and be displayed with
our other Fall decorations.
Hope to release a pattern
for it.  That helps justify
keeping it. :)

Enjoy your weekend and
as always, thank you so
much for stopping by to
visit.
Happy Stitching.

Some Progress

Happy Sunday my friends.
It is so gorgeous out today.  I was up in my
sewingstudio with all the windows open
and italmost felt like I was outside.

In my last post I showed you
the start of a new Fall alphabet sampler
I'm stitching.  I've made some progress
in the fact that it's all stitched and the
hornbook that I want to mount it on is cut
out.  I need dear hubby to drill a proper
hole in the whale tale top for me
and then it's on to staining and waxing.
I think I'll use a nice dark stain
to make the sampler really pop.
I stitched this with WDW and GA
floss and I love the mix of Fall colors
on it.

Ruthe and I have been hard at work on our
next pattern together.  It's a cross stitched
pocket.  It's been a bit tricky to get
this one charted, but it's really coming
along nicely.
Here's a sneak peek.
I still have a ways to go with finishing,
but I am really excited about this one.
I'll try and post pics as things progress
on the pocket.

Thanks for visiting and for all your
wonderful comments.
Hope you are having beautiful
weather where you are too.

Sunday Stitching

It's been quite chilly
and very Fall like in Philadelphia
these past few days.
Good stitching weather : )
Hubby and I watched the Eagles
game yesterday and I made sure
to have needle in hand for those
3 or so hours.
I am, of course, still in
Halloween/Fall mode, so
I put together this wool pumpkin
pincushion and trimmed it in
with some yummy cinnamon chenille
from
I'm very much drawn to the
chocolate browns,
rusts, and dark mustards at
this time of year.

I also began work on a new Fall inspired
alphabet sampler that I hope to
attach to a wooden hornbook.
It will be full of all the things
that are reminiscent of Autumn.
Got to get ready for TDIPT.
It comes around so fast and
I want to have a few things to
offer this month.

Hope you are enjoying some Fall
like weather where you are!
Happy Stitching.
