Take a Peek

I just recently finished this piece.  I actually stitched
two of them.  One will be made into a pinkeep
and the other will be put on top of a box.
This is a design by Plum Street Samplers,
but I changed to word from Welcome to
BEWARE.
I wanted it to have a more Halloween feel.
This is the fabric that I think I will use to cover the box.
I'll post some pics of the finished pieces and hope
also show you the Stacy Nash piece I'm stitching
right now, called Black Horse.
Happy Stitching,
~Nan

Introducing "Pumpkin Watch" and Broom Hilda Finish

My whisk broom arrived and I was
able to get "Broom Hilda" by With Thy Needle
and Thread finished up and attached
to her whisk.  I just adore it and love how it looks.
Now I'm thinking about making a Winter themed broom.
I wonder what pattern would work well.
Let me know your thoughts.  Well,
better get bidding on more vintage brooms : )

Thank you to those of you who have asked about my
new pattern.
It's ready for release and I've called it "Pumpkin Watch"
Mr. Owl is doing such a great job of watching over
the primitive pumpkins : )
If your interested in purchasing it, please email me
at nanlewis@comcast.net

Wishing you all a perfect weekend and
as always, thanks for your wonderful comments.
I love visiting your blogs too.

Thanks

You know I just wanted to say thank you to all
of you that sent me well wishes while I was sick.
How very nice of you all and I truly appreciate it.
Maybe it's what got me better because
I am finally fully recovered after 3 long weeks with
a sore throat.  It does feel good to be back to myself.

As I told you in my last post, I was stitching
a new Fall design I created and I have it all
stitched up.
I finished while watching the Eagles game : )
GO BIRDS!!!

Well here's a look and I'd love to know what you
think.  It's stitched on 30 ct R & R Old Mill Java
linen using DMC floss.

Of course I'm not sure how to finish it yet.
Waiting for it to tell me what it wants to be ; )
Happy stitching!

New Stitches

I thought I'd take a moment to share with you a piece I've just
finished stitching.  It's called Broom Hilda by With thy
Needle and Thread.  I just think it's an adorable pattern and
I plan to finish it as intended.  I've purchased an old and
vintage whisk broom that I'll attach it to.  The broom hasn't
arrived yet, but as soon as it's finished
I'll post some more pics.

Stitched one over two with DMC floss on 40 ct Linen

I'm busy stitching a new pattern that I created that's Fall
inspired.  It's a pretty quick stitch, so as soon as it's
finished I'll let you see it.
As always, thanks for visiting and letting me
share my cross stitch passion with you all.
Have a great weekend.

~A Finish and a Swap~

I stitched this Stacy Nash Alphabet Sampler awhile back
and finally got it mounted on a hornbook that I cut out
of a piece of pine and stained a red mahogany.
I just love lollipop tops, so I decided to put one on
this hornbook.   I thought it was very fitting
for this primitive sampler.

I also wanted to show you a piece that I just received in the
mail yesterday.  A few of us gals from TDIPT Mercantile
recently participated in a Fall Swap.  My swap partner
was Cookie of Curds and Whey
She is one very talented and creative gal.
Here's a picture of the Scarecrow and crow buddie
she made for me.  Isn't he incredible?
I love him so much.  He smells of cinnamon and cloves
too and it's so wonderful.
Well, I'll be listing my new stitched creations on
TDIPT Merc tonight around 9:00.
Hope you can drop by.
Wishing you all a wonderful Fall like day.

~Just about Better~

Sorry for being absent for so long, but for the last 2 weeks
I've been sick with a terrible sore throat and bad cough.
I was even too sick to stitch, YIKES!!!
It's really hung on and has been tough to shake, but I'm just
about better and have been trying to catch up
on my unfinished stitching.

I'll be listing some new stitcheries this month for TDIPT
on the 15th.
Here's a few things I just got done.

This is a pattern by Stacy Nash Primitives that I made into
a Table Mat.  It's stitched on stained linen with overdyed
floss.  Then I attached it to some black wool and
trimmed it with large black ric rac.
I've been wanting to make this since last Fall when I saw a
similar version on someones blog.
I'm rather pleased at how it turned out.

See the little pumpkins above the table mat ?.
I decided to try my hand at stitching a few up in
overdyed wool and prairie cloth and hope to add them
to the top of some round fabric boxes.
They are so much fun to make and look so
primitive.

I got the saying for this ditty bag from a Halloween
booklet by Blackbird Designs.  It's stitched on stained
prairie cloth and has a orange plaid homespun lining.

I have a few more things in the works and as soon as
they're completed I'll post some more pics.
Thanks for stopping by .
Smiles,
~Nan
