Lots to tell

Happy day to you all.
So much to tell....where to start.
First, I think a sneak peek!
Here is a little look at the new
Christmas design I've been working on.
I've stitched this on 35ct18th Century
Rook by R & R.
I absolutely love this linen color and
it's so different.  I've also used silks by
The Thread Gatherer.
on this piece and hope to have this
released in the next week or so.
Just needs some final touches.

Next, an upcoming road trip!
I'll be going down to Virginia Beach, Va.
to visit my dear friends Ann and Pat, of
Dyeing to Stitch, (and also R & R)
to celebrate their shop's birthday.
I'm so thrilled to have been invited
and can't wait to see them.
If you're in the area, the birthday
bash is on Satruday, Nov. 10th.
My buddy Ivonne, of
The Crackling Crows is making the
trip too.  Oh, what fun us girls will have!

Just too cute.

Did some quick stitching this weekend
and thought I'd post some pics.
I'm trying hard to stay actively
blogging : )
As you know, I have the house all decorated
for Fall/Halloween already and
I am in a Halloween kind of stitching
mood.  My Kindred Spirits
piece is coming along, but I
stopped for a bit to make
this little crow box.
It's a little design I created last
year around this time.

I think it is just too cute and
will fit right in with all my
Halloween handmades that
I love and cherish so.
Hope it was a happy weekend
for all !
Smiles,
~Nan

A Stitcher's Finish

Happy Saturday!
It's just a beautiful day here in
Philly and I have been spending it
with my needle and thread.
My TDIPT sister, Patti
of Winding Vine Wanderings
sent me a picture of her recent
finishes using my Harvest Moon pattern.

She stitched these up for
Notforgotten Farm's 4th Annual
Gathering of Primitive Friends, which is
happening today.

I always love the spin Patti puts on things and
how she adds her own touch to a design.

Aren't they great!
I love them.  Thanks for sharing Patti.

Hope your day is filled with fun
and many stitches :)
Smiles,
~Nan

It's Been Too Long

My dear friends, I'm sorry it's been so long
since I posted to my blog.
Where did the month of August go?
To say I have been busy is a real
understatement.
But hopefully I can soon show you
all that I've been stitching.

I've been decorating for Fall/Halloween.
It's my favorite time of the year and
I try and get the house done
as soon as Sept. hits.
I've just acquired a few really cool
pieces from some wonderful artists
that I just have to show you.

First, I had a birthday in Aug and
my hubby bought me a hand painted
Halloween game board
that I was dying to have.
He got it from and Etsy shop
The Owl in the picture is also new
and was made by Marlene of

Next is another Owl and Pumpkin
head Make Do from
I now have a thing for owls as well as pumpkins.

And last but certainly not least
is a hooked rug that I really
wanted the second I saw it.
I don't hook so when the artist
offered a make one special
order of her "1820 Sunflower" rug
I jumped at it and emailed her
as fast as my fingers would type : )
It hangs in my beloved sewing studio
and makes me smile.
I promise not to stay away so long.

I hope that all of you are enjoying
the weekend and doing something you
love.
Happy Stitching!

A Stitcher's Finish

My dear blog friend, Elisabetta from Italy
sent me this photo of her
Linen Sampler Pouch finish.

She bought plain sewing tape and
cross stitched the x's in the middle of them
to make the stripe.  Wow!
Beautiful stitching Elisabetta.
I love it and thank you for letting
me share your finish.
Smiles,
~Nan
