One More...LOL

I have another stitcher's finish to show you and again this one is also mine...:)
A good friend stitched the "Wicked" design by The Primitive Needle and asked me to do the finishing on it.  She is such a wonderful friend that I was not only happy, but also really excited to do it for her.
I had done this finish before so she knew of it and sent along a vintage skeleton key that she had in her stash.  She stitched this with the called for WDW 30ct Parchment and with the called for
CC Belle Soie silks.  I love this design and she stitched this so beautifully.
I sent her a pic of the finish and she is super happy with it.  That is what counts and makes me smile.
Hope you like it too and that it inspires you to try something a little different!

A Stitcher's Finish

Ooooh, I've got  the most wonderful finish to show you.  Myra of gr8damesplace.blogspot.com blog, sent in this pic.  She stitched my newest design "Wintertime" using coffee stained 32ct WDW Parchment and DMC Floss.
She added some rusty bells on the bottom.  A snowflake on the front and another
as a surprise, on the back.

I really enjoy getting these emails and like to share the finisher's words and thoughts.
So, here's what Myra wrote me....

Hi Nan!  I wanted to share with you my finish of Wintertime. Once again, I enjoyed every stitch. I am thinking I would like to stitch it again using a blue pallet of floss. I decided to make a door/cupboard  hanger and taking a cue from your Bountiful Blessings kit I added a little surprise in the form of a rusty tin snowflake to the back of mine. Thank you for a wonderful design and finishing inspiration.

Thank you Myra.  It's so much fun to see my designs done by a fellow stitcher.  I really love all the extra special touches you added!  Well done my friend and enjoy!

Tomorrow I am headed to Lititz PA, with my good friend Mimi, for the Open House at Day's Gone By Creations.  And of course, a nice lunch, some antique shopping and chatting with friends.  I'll try and get some pics to post of our outing.  I try and do that and then end up having so much fun that the camera never comes out.  Maybe I'll make that Mimi's job:)

A Stitcher's Finish

Happy Sunday all.  I got an email and a picture last week from my friend Sharon.
I'm sure many of you have visited her blog, but I wanted to post her finish here too.
Here's what she wrote me.....
Hi Nan!  I finally did it!  When this pattern arrived in my greedy little hands, I picked out the linen and threads... and stitched on it every minute I could find!  And, I finally finished it yesterday. :-) This has to be my favorite Autumn design to date.
Sharon used the charted DMC threads, but substituted 32 ct. Foglifter's Blend by R&R because that's what was in her stash.  The wool in the picture is what she used for the backing and it's stuffed firm with wool snippets and finished up at 5-1/2" x 7-1/2"

Well, my dear Sharon, it is really awesome.  I'm so glad you like the design and that it was a fun stitch.  Thank you so very much for sharing it.   It's the first I've seen done.  You sure got right to it and now have plenty of time to enjoy it.  Super!
Many Smiles,
~Nan

A Stitcher's FInish

Hope you are all having a
wonderful weekend.
I am keeping busy, as always,
there is lots to do, but I am stitching too.
Mostly for a friend's birthday in
September, so there is nothing
that I can show right now.
I can show you the two finishes
that Dora (no blog) sent to me
last week.
I think they are both wonderful.
She said the pictures were taken
at Pickity Place in New Hampshire.

First is "A Bee's Bounty"
She stitched this using
32ct Apple Brown Bindy from R & R
and folded the lining fabric over the edge
to the front of the bag.  She said it was a nice touch of color for the top and a little bit of stability for holding
the wildflowers.  I love the way the fabric looks on the top.

Next she stitched "A Bee's Gathering".

This was stitched on a piece of 32ct mystery linen.
Dora, they are both really beautifully done. I love them and I just want to thank you for stitching them and for sharing your finishes with all of us.
Until next time.
Happy Stitching!

A Post Before My Getaway

Yep, I'm headed out to do a little dog sitting for a
friend for a few days.  I LOVE doggies, so there
will be lots of cuddles and kisses :)
Since I will be away I thought I'd show you the
Halloween piece that I finished stitching up today.
I still have to do the  finishing on it, but that
will have to wait till my return.
Meet......"Beggar's Night"

I really get into decorating for Halloween, so I knew
I wanted to design something special for it this year.
I must say I'm quite pleased with how it
stitched up.  Stitched on 35ct R & R Reproductions
Abecedarian Blend linen with DMC floss.

The model will be on display in the
R & R Reproductions Room #612
at the TNNA show next month.
So, look for the release then.

I also wanted to show you what my friend Sharon
stitched up.  Her blog is MousecraftUSA
"Ohio Treasure Sampler"
How absolutely gorgeous.  She changed it up a bit
and stitched it  on 30ct R & R Cafe Kona with the
called for Gentle Art floss if she had it. If not
she used the DMC substitution or whatever she had
that was close to the color.
WOW....A real make do sampler.
I love it so much Sharon.      Swoon :)))
Thanks my friend for stitching it so beautifully and
sharing it too.
Well, better get packed.  I'm taking lots of stitching
with me.  Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to
hear what you think of Beggar's Night!
Hugs, ~Nan

A Bit More Progress

Seems like there was so much
to do today and I have even more
to do tomorrow, so.....
 I thought I'd post a little something
today.
I did get some more stitching
done in the early morning hours.
  Here's the progress on my
new little design.

Still need to stitch that border
around it and then the finishing.
It will be small and sweet!
Reason being, it's stitched on 40ct
I'm thinking it will make a prim
little pinkeep and hope to
have more time to devote to it
this weekend.

Now, I was just sent a picture of this
finish this morning by Nita (no blog).
She stitched Happy 4th
for an exchange that her
Kansas Stitcher's group was having.
Her buddy Pam in Iowa was the lucky
recipient.  Nita was so funny. She
said they welcome all neighboring
stitchers :)
Wonderful stitching and finishing
Nita and I love the pins.
I'm sure Pam was thrilled
to receive it.  Thank you so
much for sending me the picture.
I love it.
 Until next time....
Happy stitches!
