First Ladies Prim Society Kit

I'm so pleased to finally show you the first kit release for the Ladies Prim Society.
It has been a rough go of it with the weather, but the wonderful ladies of Dyeing to Stitch are busy kitting and getting them mailed as we speak.  And I truly appreciate all they do.
They rock!

I hope the members like what I've designed.
"GROWING LOVE" Stitcher's Wallet
The kit includes everything you need to complete the project.
Beautiful Winter Brew linen by R&R Reproductions, Blue Savannah fabric by Jo Morton, Hand dyed Yarrow wool by Blackberry Primitives, mother of pearl heart button, overdyed floss and even a rusty safety pin.  Detailed instructions are provided too, of course.

xx xx xx

I have been busy this week working on the finishing of all the pieces I showed you in the last post.  My plan was to get them all done to show you, but plans don't always work out the way I want them too.  An unexpected trip has come up and I am going out of town for a week or so.  I will have to show you them on my return.  Something to look forward to when I get back!
I will be closing my Etsy shop while I'm away, as I will not be able to ship.
I sure hope this weather gets better for all of us.  Especially during my travel time.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Love to hear your comments and what you think of the new Prim piece and wishing everyone a wonderful week.
Smiles, Nan

Christmas Creations

These past few weeks, I've been having fun creating.  The other day I finally put the last stitch in the Christmas pieces I've been making.  If you got a chance to read my previous posts....my plan was to list them for sale in my Etsy shop.   Well, a friend saw them and called to ask if she could  purchase them.  AND if you know me, I can't say no to a friend.  I still wanted to show you what I created in hopes that it will still be of some inspiration to all the creative stitchers and finishers out there.
I reworked my "Holly Sampler" pattern so that it would be square and fit on this hanging bag finish that I wanted to make.

I used the motif from my "Be Ye Merry" pattern for the fabric covered box and added some special touches inside.
I think my most favorite of the three is the sawdust filled holly pinkeep.  It's just so simple and prim......my favorite kind of piece.  I love the black and khaki striped homespun ticking that I chose to use.  I just recently purchased this fabric and I'm sure I'll be using it again on something soon.

As a little holiday surprise from me to you.....here is the holly border pattern
I stitched it with WDW Bullfrog and GA Country Redwood
using 30ct R&R Reproductions Old Mill Java linen.  I had some scraps leftover from a previous project and it just happened to be the perfect linen color.
The pinkeep measures 6 1/2" by 4" with the center ticking being 3" by 4"
I used the same ticking on the back.  I left a 1/2" seam allowance on all sides of the stitching before sewing it all together.  It's really quite an easy finish and hope you'll give it a try.

There's still plenty to do around here to get ready for Christmas.  I'm off now to run some errands and do some last minute gift shopping.  Thank you for following along with me and I'm always so happy to hear from you and see your comments.  Enjoy these days leading up to Christmas and Happy Stitching.

Beggar's Christmas Release

Happy Weekend to you all....
I've tried to work very quickly to get this new release completed and I'm please to show you the finish of "Beggar's Christmas".
Stitch count is 77 H by 106 W.
The model was stitched on 35ct Chamomile Tea by R and R Reproductions.
Absolutely love this new color linen!
The thread colors that were used are Gentle Art in Country Redwood and Heirloom Gold
and Weeks Dye Works in Onyx and Moss.
Trimmed with BeeSkep baby chenille by R and R Reproductions.

I've already begun shipping to shops and my distributors should have this later next week.
Also added it to my Etsy Shop.

This will be my last release for the year.  I've already begun to work on my first design for the Ladies Prim Society, due out in late January.  As I mentioned, this is a wonderful club hosted by Dyeing to Stitch and they have decided to open the club to new members for 2014.  Please visit their website
for more information about the club.
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to visit and for your continued support of my needlework designs.   I am always so touched by your emails and comments.
Hugs and Happy Stitching!

*Sweet Little Limited Edition Kit*

I designed and stitched this sweet Autumn pinkeep and thought maybe some of you would like to make one too.  So, I'm putting together a few kits.

I just love the saying "Bountiful Blessings".
I actually feel that way all year round and not just at Thanksgiving.
It's stitched on 32ct linen with 1 strand of floss over 2 linen threads and is a pretty fast and fun stitch.  For a nice surprise, on the back, I've added a wool Fall leaf with a brass acorn charm tied to it.
The kit includes:
32ct R & R Irish Creme linen
4 skeins of DMC floss
R & R Cocoa ric rac
Tan plaid shirting fabric
Army blanket wool
Brass acorn charm
Brown hemp string
Color cross-stitch graph
Leaf template
& complete finishing instructions
 $28.00 plus shipping

The kits are limited quantity and will be offered only through me and my friends at Dyeing to Stitch shop.  You may email me at threadworkprimitives@verizon.net

I look forward to your emails and comments.
Happy Stitching!

Wintertime Release

A very happy Friday to you all.....
Thank you to all my friends and followers for your patience while getting this new pattern ready for release. Your emails and comments are always so heartwarming and so supportive.  You have no idea how much they mean to me.
Here goes...... I still get butterflies when I release a pattern :), but
I'm so happy to show you how it finished up.
"WINTERTIME"

I decided to make this into a hanging pinkeep.  It's stitched on the most beautiful 32ct Apple Brown Bindy linen by R & R Reproductions.  The colors on this worked out beautifully for me.
All Gentle Art.....Country Red, Forest Green, Sable and Mustard Seed.
I did provide a complete DMC conversion in the floss key.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I added a small jingle bell on the sides and used plaid homespun for the hanger.
I'm still very much in the Halloween/Fall mood, but I will find delight in hanging this in the house come December.
I've added this new design to my Etsy Shop.  The charts will be on their way to my distributors later today and should be in shops soon after that.
Another new design is in the works!
Enjoy your day! Happy Stitching and thank you for stopping by.

A Stitcher's Finish and MORE Gifts

Just couldn't wait to show you this finish that Pat from Dyeing to Stitch did. She asked me convert the DMC I used to Gentle Art floss on Beggar's Night.
Here's her wonderful stitched piece!
If you're interest, here is the conversion I suggested.
DMC            GAST

Ecru            Oatmeal
     3021            Wood Trail
612             Chamomile
   610             Old Hickory

        3011           Chives
   3012         Grasshopper
301            Pumpkin Pie

She also chose to trim this with R&R Cocoa chenille instead of the Cinnamon.  I wish you could see all the variegation in the pumpkin pie floss.  It's really beautiful.  Thank you Pat for stitching this and sharing it with us.

Well, my buddy Ann came back from Market and sent me a surprise box.  She went antique shopping while in St. Charles and got this sweet crow candle holder for me.  She knows me so well.  I put it out immediately.
She also sent more R&R linen, vintage pins and a Halloween inspired kit and chart from Blackbird Designs.  Yep, when I saw this "Away We Ride" chart, my heart skipped a beat.
Ann's a very good listener and surprised me with it.

Wonderful gifts from a wonderful friend.
Thanks Ann, you know I love everything and they've brought me many smiles.

Hope you all have something to smile about too.
Enjoy your evening!

Beggar's Night Release

Happy Friday all.....
Thank you again for your wonderful response
to my new design.  I won't keep you in suspense
any longer.  Here is the finish.  Can't wait to hear what you think of it.  If you know me, you know I have a love for pinkeeps :)

"Beggar's Night"

As I mentioned before, this is stitched on one of my favorite linens, 35ct R & R Reproductions Abecedarian Blend with DMC floss.
I chose to trim it with  R & R Cinnamon baby chenille for an added touch!  They have so many great color chenilles and ric racs, but this color
seemed a perfect match.
Ann and Pat of R & R Reproductions, will be taking this model with them to the TNNA show at the end of the month.  It will be on display in their suite #612.
Many thanks my dear friends for your support and friendship.

Now off to get this posted in my Etsy Shop.
Thanks for visiting and have a super weekend.

A Post Before My Getaway

Yep, I'm headed out to do a little dog sitting for a
friend for a few days.  I LOVE doggies, so there
will be lots of cuddles and kisses :)
Since I will be away I thought I'd show you the
Halloween piece that I finished stitching up today.
I still have to do the  finishing on it, but that
will have to wait till my return.
Meet......"Beggar's Night"

I really get into decorating for Halloween, so I knew
I wanted to design something special for it this year.
I must say I'm quite pleased with how it
stitched up.  Stitched on 35ct R & R Reproductions
Abecedarian Blend linen with DMC floss.

The model will be on display in the
R & R Reproductions Room #612
at the TNNA show next month.
So, look for the release then.
 x~x~x~x

I also wanted to show you what my friend Sharon
stitched up.  Her blog is MousecraftUSA
"Ohio Treasure Sampler"
How absolutely gorgeous.  She changed it up a bit
and stitched it  on 30ct R & R Cafe Kona with the
called for Gentle Art floss if she had it. If not
she used the DMC substitution or whatever she had
that was close to the color.
WOW....A real make do sampler.
I love it so much Sharon.      Swoon :)))
Thanks my friend for stitching it so beautifully and
sharing it too.
Well, better get packed.  I'm taking lots of stitching
with me.  Thanks for stopping by and can't wait to
hear what you think of Beggar's Night!
Hugs, ~Nan

Worth the Wait?

Thank you all for your patience while waiting for
this new release and 3rd design in the Bee Series.
It's been one of those weeks, but now it's time
to show you what my busy needle has done.
Here is a sweet little pin roll called
"A Bee's Gathering".
This model was stitched on 32ct R & R Reproductions
Creme Brulee linen using Weeks and
Gentle Art floss, but a DMC conversion
has also been provided.
This is such a handy thing to have.
I just love using mine.

Here is my collage of the Series.

Now the other surprise.
The new sampler design is all framed and is
so beautiful.  Don't you think?
Meet "Ann's Sampler"

I designed this sampler especially for my dear friend
Ann Robbins of Dyeing to Stitch
and R & R Reproductions.
Just like Ann, it makes me smile.  I'm so
happy that we are friends.
This is stitched on 32ct Abecedarian Blend
with Weeks and Gentle Art floss.  A DMC
conversion has been provided for this design also.
I hope you like the new designs.  They will be
available at your local needlework shop soon
and I have added them to my Etsy Shop.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy
summer to stop by and visit.
Many happy stitches,
