Can't get enough of Holiday Stitching

First, I would like to thank all of you who
took the time to visit TDIPT last week
for the December update.
I am always humbled by your
support and patronage.
~***~
I got a few other pieces finished and
I love to post these for you to see.
* * * *
I've stitched 2 primitive heart pinkeeps.
The left is motifs from Blackbird
Designs and the other is just a little
motif of mine.
They're stuffed with sawdust and
backed with ticking and homespun.
* * * *
Next is a freebie I stitched from Pineberry Lane that I found
on Patternmart.
When I saw it I was just so inspired that I had to stitch
it right away.  I think I copied it right down to the last
detail, but I just love it so.
This is so prim.  I'm not sure if you can see
them well, but there are tiny little jingle bells
stitched to each corner.
Wendy is probably one of my most favorite
designers and I'm sure many of you agree.
* * * *
I also stitched up a little reproduction fabric ditty bag
with a small hanging pinkeep.
I love using wool these days and added
wool holy and some of my French ribbon
I collect.
* * * *
I'm stitching a new Winter Sampler design.
 I have a feeling my friend Marianne from
Midnight Stitching will be happy to hear this news.
I hope to have this done for release at the
beginning of the year.

Thank you again for your visits to my
blog and enjoy this wonderful season.
Blessings,
~Nan

*A Creative Weekend*

As you know, I was stitching to my heart's content this past weekend and I am so happy with all that I was able to accomplish.  These pieces will be available on my TDIPT page this Thursday night starting around 9:30.
* * * * * * *
Pins Wreath Pinkeep
This pinkeep is trimmed in wrinkled seam binding ribbon using a technique called ruching.
This was my first time at ruching and I think I'm hooked on it.  I love the old and dainty look it gives the piece.  It was slow going, but I think with more practice it should get easier : )
This is one of my little designs.
* * * * * * *
Oh My Stars Pinkeeps
These were stitched using some of my favorite overdyed floss colors.
I think they look very Summery.  They are trimmed in stained chenille and I've added a few of my hand dyed pins.  This is a BBD design.  Very simple and sweet.
* * * * * * *
Hanging Sampler
 This is another BBD Design.  It's stitched with a muted blue Victorian Motto Sampler thread.  The frame was painted a coordinating blue and waxed.
* * * * * * *
Thanks for stopping by to visit.  I love hearing from you and hope that you'll get a chance to visit To Dwell In Primitive Thymes Merchantile on Thursday night to view all of the wonderful creations the artists have made this month.
Have a great week.

*Pins & Tulips Pinkeep*

It's been a bit of a rough week.  Our doggie was sick this week with, believe it or not,
a kind of doggie vertigo.  She is much better now, but what a scare she gave us.
I have been keeping her by my side on the sofa while I stitch.   This is what I finally got finished up today.  It's a Blackbird Design.  I really like it.  Helps me think of Spring : )

On the back I used a creamy colored silk matka that I stained a bit and added a wool heart to hold pins.  I also trimmed it in stained ric rac.

A Bit of Stitching

I have been so busy.  I have a new job that I just started and I'm trying to get use to the new routine at the new daycare center.   I've been trying to squeeze in as much stitching time as I can here and there and I thought I'd show you some of the pieces.  They're stitched, but I haven't been able to get to the finishing, though I do have a good idea what each of them will become.
* * * * * * *
The top one is from Blackbird Designs called Peacock Pinkeep.  Oh, how I do love stitching peacocks.  I hope to use this to top of a round box.
The bottom piece is a little design I created to celebrate Valentine's Day.
Plan is to make it into a sawdust filled pinkeep or cupboard hanger.
* * * * * * *
The piece on the left is by Little By Little called Quaker Blackbird.  Soon to be displayed on a hornbook and the other piece is a freebie design by Appleseed Prim.
Jennie Lynn has a few freebie patterns and others for sale.  I just love the simplicity of this pattern, the colors and of course, the Peacock : )  I have some beautiful teal blue houndstooth wool I'd love to use on this piece.
Thank you to everyone for your comments and your support for my new patterns.  I appreciate you taking the time from your busy life to visit.
Happy stitching and hopefully finishing : )

*Valentine Finishes*

I am so glad that everyone is enjoying the winter cross stitch freebie.
Thank you all for your wonderful emails and comments.   I love sharing with you.
It is snowing once again here in Philadelphia, so I have been busy in my sewing studio working on some finishes.  I am in full Valentine mode : )
* * * * * * *
This pattern is by Country Rustic Primitives.  I've stuffed it with sawdust and used a little red and white french ribbon to attach a heart charm to the front of the pinkeep.  It's backed with really beautiful pale red striped french general fabric.  OOOH LA LA.
* * * * * * *
I love stitching this BBD design.  I changed the wording from NOEL to Be Mine.
To me it really looks like a Valentine design.   It's one of my favorite little boxes to make.
The inside is lined with a copy of a hand written love letter.
* * * * * * *
When I got done stitching this BBD design, called Maggie's Needlecase,  it just seemed like it deserved to be framed.  I don't do much framing of my pieces, but I love the way the colors in this sampler look surrounded by this wide black frame.
* * * * * * *
I'll leave you with this snowy picture of our garden.
The snow is very pretty, but I'm not much for cold weather anymore.

Stay warm and happy stitches to you.
~Nan
