All Finished

I wanted to show you my completed pinkeeps I made using my new Cross Stitch Bible book. I liked the first one so much I stitched up 2 more. The "D" and the "R" are spoken for but I will be listing the "M" in my Etsy Shop
I also finished another small pinkeep. The pattern is by Blackbird Designs. I think it came out rather sweet. This will also go into my Etsy Shop.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

My Cross Stitch Book Arrived !!!

I am so excited. I just had to share this with all of you. I treated myself to a new book that just came out and it is so wonderful that I almost squealed going through the pages. It's called Cross Stitch Letters Bible by Valerie LeJeune. It's an enormous collection of alphabets and numbers (739 different alphabets and 99 different numbers) They range from tiny to very large. I recommend it for any cross stitcher's library. Since it was raining again yesterday, I used my new book to create a new cross stitch pattern. It's all stitched up but needs to be backed and stuffed into a finished pinkeep. I really am happy with the design. Especially the very fancy date :)

I'm sure I will be using this for reference quite a bit in the future. Now I have all the alphabets and numbers I could possibly need. This was worth every cent.
Until next time. Have a wonderful week and may there be sunny days ahead.

Two New Finishes

Well, I had a pretty good week of sewing. It rained every day here in Phila. this week which provided me with time to stitch. My first finish is a pinkeep with a little pocket on the back for a pair of Putford Scissors. I love them and they work really well in tight spots. My second finish is a larger alphabet pinkeep with a black wool bottom accented with some old stained lace. Both are stuffed with sawdust that my wonderful husband makes just for my pinkeeps. He's so good to me.
Well, I hope to start on some new projects this weekend since they are calling for more rain tomorrow.
I'm always happy to hear your comments. Thanks for blogging with me and have a great weekend.

A Day for the Garden

Today was so beautiful in Philly that I didn't do much in the way of sewing. I did enjoy being out in the gardens and thought I'd take of few shots to remember the beauty of the day.

I love this old water pump my husband got me one year for my birthday. I couldn't wait to get it in the garden.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend doing what you love.

Stitching the Day Away

I started this Independence Day Ditty Bag last night and got it finished up today and listed on Etsy. It came out just the way I envisioned it. That's always a plus. I also finished up a sewing roll that I had started last year. I just never got around to putting the backing fabric on or the finishing touches. But today was the day, since it has been calling to me for so many months, every time I go into my sewing room. I just felt the urge to get it done and so glad I did. I am really pleased with it and can't wait to start using it when I cross stitch. It should be pretty handy with the pocket and small pincushion. Well, it's really a lovely day out there today, so I think I'll sit on the deck awhile and listen to the birdies sing. Have a wonderful day.

My Package Arrived

I just wanted all my friends in blog land to see what arrived in the mail yesterday. YEAH! I bought this primitive doll from Robby at Glory River Primitives in Scotland. As I've said many times before she has the most wonderful creations. Anyway, her name is Bettina and I just love her look. I couldn't wait to display her on my favorite shaker chair in my sewing room. Isn't she just simply the best? Thank you Robby for brightening my day. I will truly cherish her. Please click on the picture to enlarge it so you can get a real good look at her in detail.
